In the Tankt section I describe how I got into my modeling hobby. It began when I went to a hobby-shop. The owner was a real nice guy and got me started on my nascent hobby.
As a local store, he admitted that business was tanking. I offered him my help as a developer to develop him a website.
Anyway, he didn't have a computer nor internet access, so it was very difficult to correspond. His store was also a few towns away and I didn't have a car. The project faded away. Regardless, I crafted this design for the site to work with Breadstream Weblab, my eCommerce system.
The edges have a metallic camouflage pea-dot pattern. The content-areas are laden with bullet holes. The impression I'm going for is that of a tank-like structure that has seen some battle. I think it is a bit unique. In spite of the radical look, it still maintains an intuitive structure. I'd like to see it in action some day, even if it means making my own online hobby-shop.
I sure miss that guy.
Afterwords
This is an example of how I incorporate usability with graphic design to deliver a creative, yet nonthreatening web design. Although, graphic design is certainly not my major discipline I am still up to the task.
