This project was a very large project, and perhaps my first taste of large-scale companies, albeit it was a local branch.
The site takes in a daily cronjob which FTPs to the main MLS server, grabs all the new listings and stores them into our database.
Other than parsing and presenting MLS data, the site handles user-generated rentals, generates reports from customers visiting the site, and torrents of other features.
*10/08 ALERT. the site has been changed radically, so there is no live example*
Features
MLS Parser
This site is automatically updated with the latest MLS listings. This was no easy task, considering there is no "standard" MLS, also, it came with copious clauses, (ex: we could only present certain data (note: there are approx 300 fields). Genevate is no stranger to MLS, however, the old mls parser was obsolete, so this overhaul was quite welcome.
Rentals
Rentals are below the radar of MLS, thus realtors can manage their own rentals in an intuitive admin.
Customer Reports
Realtors can assign themselves to properties and rentals and are able to view the customer histories.
Customers, too, are able to bookmark listings.
Realtor Profiles
Realtors are encouraged to add thier profiles via their profile-creator in the admin. Their properties are presented below their profiles.
Afterword
This was the first Object-Oriented website I've developed. Also, I got my feet wet with MLS: head-ache inducing subterfuge. All in all, this was one of the shining anvils from which Genevate refined my skills.
Feedback
Oh my fucking god, that's the one!!! Where did you find it?
