This was the initial project that we [Forward, Inc] designed for StudentCity. They are partnered with MTV/Viacom.
This project was written primarily in javascript with added effects from JQuery, a third-party javascript framework, DOM, and XHTML.

Features
Animations
The background is set to a timer initially, until a user selects a navi-item. The nav items jump out. Etc. its very hard to discuss visuals..
Simple Configuration
Since the entire app is in the hands of one html file, there is no third-party management, (unless its integrated), and for the ease of third-party development, it's very intuitive to configure it.
Final Thoughts
I take something back from every project. This was the first project where I used a third-party javascript framework. In this case, JQuery. Although future projects would use it more liberally, it proved to be an essential tool in this project. It also was a proof of concept, were we truly capable of making flashy effects without Flash?

This was SCs litmus test for Forward, and I was called in to show results. It was an experiment to see if Javascript could be a Flash surrogate. Although we went a bit overboard visually, we succeeded. Proof of success? It's on their
homepage. Graphics/Mockup by Tudor.
Although I've been an avid Ajax/Javascript man, I always avoided third party js frameworks. I always had a bad tendancy to lean towards DIY development. Given the time-constraints, I figured this project would be a good experiment with JQuery. This project began my summer-long honeymoon with JQuery. In spite of some animations, most of this was written in JS proper.
